Jiaozhou Bay Is The World’s Longest Sea Bridge – 5 Miles Longer Than The Channel Tunnel!

China is the center of attention these days especially due to their newest effort in the sphere of bridges. This article does not refer to scary bridges nor to dangerous ones as some may think. It is dedicated to the World`s longest sea bridge which is set in China! The bridge is 26,4 miles long and with such length it is 5 miles further in distance than the Channel Tunnel connecting England and France. Pretty impressive, huh? The bridge is meant to connect China`s eastern city of Qingdao and the Huangdao island offshore.

The World`s longest sea bridge is the longest of its kind. It was expensive as well as it costed almost $1,000,000,000 (billion) to be built! The construction is supported by 5,000 pillars as it stretches for over 24 miles. The bridge can also brag with its width which is 110 ft making it wide and long in the same time! Just as a comparison to other huge bridges, the longest sea bridge of China is 174 time longer than the Tower Bridge in London. This strong bridge will be able to cope even with the strongest earthquakes with a magnitude of 8.0! Check it out!
