The Hyundai presence on the Chinese market started in 2002 with the establishment of 50-50 joint venture between Beijing Hyundai Motor Co. and Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co.
Hyundai had rapid growth in the last 10 year and finally became one of the mainstream brands in China. However, Hyundai aims even to accelerate its brand image and management the next decade. Through its “Brand Innovation Based on Quality” strategy, Hyundai will prepare against its fiercer competitors.
Hyundai Mistra concept (Mingtu, or 名图 in Chinese)!
Hyundai unveiled Mistra concept (Mingtu, or 名图 in Chinese), at the 2013 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition. With this China-Exclusive Model, the Korean auto maker is making all the efforts to become the leading automotive brand in China
The new model is exclusive for the Chinese market and will be placed at the mid-sized family sedan segment.
Actually, this model is positioned between the Elantra and Sonata, in the segment that fully reflects the taste and preferences of the Chinese customers. From mid-sized sedan Hyundai expects to boost Hyundai`s presence on the Chinese market.
The Hyundai Mistra is the joined project between the Beijing Hyundai Technical Center and Hyundai Motor Group`s R&D Center. This model should go on sale in 2014 on the Chinese market.

Sporty, Modern and Luxurious Concept for Mistra!
The exterior design of Mistra is based on 3 sub-concepts: Understated Sportiness, Modern Simplicity and Smart Luxury together with its promotional green body color, called “Frost Jade”.
On the front of the exterior there is a remarkable wide radiator grill, unique white fog lamps and wide intake hole. The sporty design line continues with long hood and sloping side character lines. From behind there is big 2-tone color rear bumper and sophisticated full LED rear lamps.
The name of this model came from the beautiful city of Mistra in the southern Laconia region of Greece, where the Bizantine Empire was located in the past. The name “Mistra” signifies mystery, nobility and beauty.
The Hyundai Mistra`s (名图 in Chinese) target customers are young parents in their 20s and 30s.
Hyundai reinforced its Sophisticated and Modern Image at the 2013 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition!
Besides the concept model Mistra, Hyundai reinforced its sophisticated and modern image by the Chinese debut of the 3-row version of the premium SUV, the Grand Santa Fe, eco-friendly models Sonata Hybrid and the ix35 Fuel Cell, as well as IT service -- Blue Link in order to promote its highly advanced technologies. Within its premium zone, Hyundai unveiled the new Equus luxury sedan and Equus Limousine version as well as Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis.
