Tire Tractionizing Explained! How You Can Make RACE TRACK TIRES!

In this video we have a full rundown on how to make race track tires on ice and snow surfaces. Modern ice tires are mainly very pretty efficient. They contain many sipes and all of these sipes flex which in turn deliver a lot of grip on road surfaces. Having said that, all of these modern tires made for ice surfaces are very darn good. However, what about tractionized tires that you can make by yourself? Tractionzed ice tires have many little edges that bide onto that ice. They also have much more flex which will deliver grip that a normal tire can only dream for.

These tires can be done with a tractionizer which is basically two wheels placed on a firm steel frame. These wheels contain many little metal spikes coming out of them. What you do in order to make your race track tires tractionized is you bring your vehicle with the differential opened and you restrict one of the wheels from turning. In the video below, they placed the wheel that they don`t want turning into another wheel. The other wheel is where the tractionizer contraption is.

They run that wheel on the tractionizing machine. Obviously, you don`t want to do this with a vehicle that has a limited locking differential or certainly a slip differential. When you lower your car on the tractionizer you can see all of those little metal spikes bite into the tread. Then you simply drive your car, however, you don`t want to go crazy but keep the speeds under 20mph. You do this about 2 minutes and you got yourself tractionized tires.

At last, it is never a bad idea to watch some tires smoke!
