Hyundai Unveiled “Fluidic Sculpture in Motion” – Light Sculpture at Milan Design Week!

Milan Design Week was launched in the early 1961 and since then is held every year in April as the largest event from this kind. This design event is featuring the best furniture and design innovations from all over the world.

On the 2013 Milan Design Week Hyundai unveiled one-of-a-kind dynamic virtual sculpture  in combination with lasers, dance, music, 12,000 spheres in order to create the 3D scanner registers body heat that allowed the visitors to create different light shapes with gestures.



This innovative light sculpture is inspired by the Hyundai`s “Fluidic sculpture” design philosophy, was presented to the company`s participation in the one of the best design events. This specific project took the brand to the new level in the world of design. 

“Fluidic Sculpture in Motion” -- Original Art Installation!

Hyundai`s “Fluidic Sculpture in Motion” is an original art installation that creates unique dynamic virtual sculptures using different lights, using the nature role and the essence of fluidic sculpture as well as the ability to continuous adaptation to the changing environment.

This installation created by Hyundai Design Center, introduces this brand`s aesthetic language shown in the form of interactive art.

Hyundai as a brand is trying to find an innovative form and signature design DNA to reach the wider audience, trough the fluidic sculpture concept.

Mix of Music, Dance and Performance!

The famous German choreographer Nikeata Thompson created the unique mix of music (by the Jan Jelinek from SCAPE), dance and performance art trough the light sculpture in the Art Point Room, as a part of the “Temporary Museum for New Design” in Milan.

The installation was made on 1,000 m2, with screen made from 12,000 translucent spheres, surrounded by 8 high-tech lasers together with the effect over the pool of water.

This performance was based on the transformation and formation of the nature, with 3-dimensional images and different shapes with great visual impact. It begins with laser virtual rain, than is followed by the interactive phase and continues with 3-dimensional images from the body warmth based scanning system. So, the visitors took their chances to manipulate the installation with their gestures to create shapes and curves.
