NASA’s Greased Lightning 10 Engine RC AIRCRAFT!

Once you see this aircraft, you will probably think that it is another RC aircraft, nothing new, been there done that etc. But be careful don`t rush with your judgment. Yes, this is an RC aircraft, but it is a prototype, designed and built by the researchers from NASA`s Langley Research Center. It is completely different that the other flying devices you`ve seen before. And now you are going to find out why. The name of this unit is Greased Lightning 10 engine, or GL10.

And in this video you are going to see its successful transition. This leaves a room for a question, what kind of a transition? First of all, we have to mention that this aircraft is created to be able to take-off as a helicopter and then fly as a plane. That`s the type of transition you are going to see in a while. Although it may seem difficult to operate the Greased Lightning 10, its pilot states that flying this aircraft is the same as flying three-engine plane, because one group of motors is controlled by the same command. Furthermore, it has 10 battery-powered motors, 8 on the wings and 2 on the tail. Its wings are 10 feet wide and weighs 62 pounds.
