DeLorean Confirms Plan to Produce the New DMC 12 Once Again!

Among all the car enthusiast in the world there is a special lore of the legendary DeLorean being produced in a plant once again. As we all know the rumors for the return of the new DMC 12 started at the beginning of 2016 and due to some serious changes of regulations there was a huge question mark if it’s revival would not exactly be legal. According to the experts the car manufacturers with a low volume production have some serious hurdles to jump over in the market. All these new regulations made the hurdles almost impossible for DeLorean.

As can be read on the Hagerty‘s website, SEMA announced that according to the newest regulations will allow the low-volume car manufacturers to sell up to 325 vehicles each year. That number resemble the production cars manufactured around 25 years ago.



The Vice President of DeLorean, James Espey stated that they will start to produce a completely new line of their loved flagship and the new model will be updated.

However, the last time DeLorean Motor Company produced a new car was back in 1982 and since then they were just providing spare parts and they hung around as an authority for restoring their cars. Actually, the new rumors confirms they have enough components to start the production of the new and updated DeLorean DMC 12 once again.

They announced that the cars’ bodies will be close to the originals, they will use the old stock parts, but will implement the newer technology in the features like cruise control, ABS, TCS, power steering unlike the originals from few decates ago.

DeLorean company is still waiting for the final approval from the NHTSA.
