106 Years Old Blackstone Oil Engine Startup! Amazing Old School Machinery!

Blackstone & Co. is a UK based company noted for manufacturing agricultural machineries. It was founded way back at the end of the 19th century or 1889 to be more precise. They began with manufacturing lamp start oil engines in 1896. By the time of 1912 they managed to develop a totally brand new internal combustion engine! This brand new ICE innovation that they built ran on vaporizing oil. This IC engine was fired by a spark. The great thing that they achieved with their ICE was that it didn`t need any hot bulbs. And that`s very impressive when you take into consideration that most engines of that time needed hot bulbs! So, you can see what major role Blackstone & Co. played in the automotive history! Be excited, because today we are going to see a Blackstone oil engine startup that is 106 years old!

In this video, we can see an early oil engine built by Blackstone & Co. This engine was built in Stamford UK. Its main use was for pumping water from a river to a market garden. However, it is known to be used for all manner of things as well. For example, it was also known to be used for generators, pumping running sawmill and so on.
But, people with bad intentions are always around. This engine was actually sabotaged in the 1920`s. Someone intentionally destroyed the cylinders with explosives. However, the peps at Blackstone installed new cylinders. After installing the new cylinders, this engine was brought back to service. After it was returned, it serviced for many years that came. But eventually everything meets its end. After a very long period of service it felt into disuse. Time took its tool and a new and improved machine took its place.

After a couple of river flooding, this engine reemerged to tell its epic tale! It was dismantled, cleaned and ready for a Blackstone oil engine startup after many years of being neglected! This 109 years old engine runs again now! Talk about quality huh?!
