The reason for this brief intro is the tragic loss of life of one of the greatest bikers in BMX history. We are referring to the utmost BMX biker Dave Mirra who was found dead in his truck on February 4, 2016, in Greenville, North Carolina.

Dave Mirra was one of the greatest pro BMX biker on the planet and he has gained an incredible number of 24 “X-Game” medals, before announcing his retirement. He was an inspiration for the extreme sports generation that followed him. In addition, not only he was a pro BMX biker, but also he was a rally driver and TV host as well. Mirra was defending the name of both the Subaru Rally Team as well as Mini in the Global Rallycross. When it comes to TV, he was the host for 2 seasons of the “Real World/Road Rules Challenge” TV show broadcasting on MTV.

Furthermore, his friends in the area of Greenville said that the biker was visiting them during this past week before this tragic event. Dave Mirra was found in his truck with, which is likely to be, a gunshot wound to the head. A team of paramedics and police officers as well, immediately ran to the place of the fatality but it was too late. They pronounced the death on the very location. Earlier that day, he uploaded a picture from him and his wife Lauren on his Instagram profile. The reasons why he left his wife and two children behind are still unknown.
