New world record it’s set: 6 Minutes & 47.3 Seconds! Brand new Porsche 911 GT2 RS sets a world record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife race track and pushed down the Lamborghini Huracan Performante on the second place on the list of the fastest street legal sports car. Congratulations Porsche! This is actually a fantastic car and it is engineered by one of the best car manufacturer in the world. However, buying a Porsche 918 is maybe an unnecessary, because is heavier and more complicated and it is 10 seconds slower on this race track.

Frank-Steffen Walliser, the  Vice President of Motorsport at Porsche AG announced that their record is set with the same engine, tires and suspension every customer will get when buying a this model.



So, this 6 minutes 47.3 seconds is really special, however Porsche officials said their target was 7 minutes and 5 seconds when they were working on the project of the car. However, the end result was 20 seconds quicker car then their project and 5 seconds quicker car than the previous record holder Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
