Before the flight industry had reached its peak point, there was a time in which famous and rich people ordered their own planes and plane manufacturing companies had to build them according to the requirements. Most of you are probably fond of Elvis Presley`s “Lisa Marie” or Donald Trump`s Boing 727, but there is also another legend that owned a plane vividly remembered to this day. That man was none other than Hugh Hefner and his Jet Black DC-9 which he names it the Big Bunny. The 70s was a time in which the Playboy industry had reached its fame and glory and Hugh was one of the richest men alive.
He had everything he had ever wanted for such as cars, houses and women. But there was one thing missing in that, that being a plane! The Jet Black DC-9 was a unique plane and was one of the most recognizable ones at the time. Hugh Hefner bought the plane back in 1969 for staggering $5.5 million. The plane`s had a registration number was N950PB. It had everything you could ever dream of having in a private jet hence the Jet Black DC-9 underwent a glorious modification and overhaul.
