Take A Ride With A 426 Hemi 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger! A Story with Lou Costabile!

When it comes to rare cars, we think this one is one of the rarest of them all. Lou Costabile, is the host of a great show that goes by the name of “My Car Story”. He got the perfect opportunity to take a ride in a 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger. It is powered by a 426 Hemi engine. There were only a handful made with Hemi engines, and only two examples build in this beautiful Spring Green color. It was built with the intention to be a limited-edition, high-performance version of the Charger. Dodge made this as a weapon to conquer NASCAR. The Daytona managed to win the first Talladega 500 that was held in the fall. However, it was considered as a hollow victory because all of the great drivers and teams boycotted the race.

Nevertheless, next year it managed to achieve historic success with driver Buddy Baker. Baker was the first in NASCAR history who broke the 200 miles per hour mark at 1970 Talladega. Now, we were very excited to see Lou Costabile together with the car`s owner Tom Lembeck to give us a full rundown of this magnificent car. To make it even greater, Lou doesn`t only give us an up-close glance at the super-rare 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger, but Tom also fires the monster up and takes it for a spin. Tom is driving the car through busy streets and also squealing the tires when the lights go green. You will also see a few launches at a parking lot before the car is brought back to where it usually resides – a museum.

That`s not all. More Dodge Daytonas at your service!
