Drag races are all over the world! This time we are moving to the UK in order to find out what is new at the drag scene there! This time you are about to watch a video with a vehicle that is not common for the race track and you certainly remember it seeing it in another condition! It is the legendary Volkswagen Hippie Van! This one in particular dates from the mid-60s and now it definitely spreads more fear than love, like it used to do. Also, it has a really cool name, it`s called the MENTAL BREAKDOWN!
This monster dragster was set on a custom built chassis specially made for racing purposes! Moreover, it has a huge 8.6 liter Keith Black Hemi V8 engine that delivers a staggering 2000 horsepower and reaches a maximum speed of 179 mph in 7.92 seconds! This Volkswagen Hippie Van was created by Wayne Allman, owner of the Intergalactic Custom Shop located near Stratford-upon-Avon in England. He needed more than 10 years to complete this project. In today`s video we are going to see it performing at the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire. The best is yet to come, stay tuned.
