Detroit Muscle Car Drag Racing: 1968 Charger R/T vs 1965 Pontiac GTO!

Here is a drag race for all those fans of the classic Detroit muscle cars, a battle between two vintage representatives of the American muscle car production that will be a real treat. The legendary 1968 Dodge Charger R/T versus another classic beauty, the 1965 Tri-Power Pontiac GTO in very, very close and tide muscle car drag racing.

According to the info, both of these old schools drags are coming in their original form, without being tuned and modified, just like in the good old days. Under the hood of the 1968 Dodge Charger R/T there is one of Chrysler`s most powerful engines, 440 cubic inch Magnum that is giving an output to a 375 HP, mated to a 4 speed manual transmission, with a 3.54 Sure Grip Rear.

On the other side of the lane, we have one of those classic Detroit muscles that always make heads turn and gets a lot of attention, one of the most popular muscle cars ever, the 1965 Pontiac GTO. Under the hood it has the 389 cubic inch motor that is boosting 360 HP, and just like the `68 Charger, it is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission, but with a 4.10 Posi Rear. An amazing musce car drag racing battle is yet to come!

As above mentioned, the race is very close and extremely tide (I`m not going to tell you who is the winner), one car achieving 13.78 seconds at 101 mph, and the other 13.79 seconds at 100 mph. But there is something strange about this video. Look at it carefully and you will notice that the cars are switching the lanes, from the point when we are looking at them warming up, and when they are racing.
