600HP 1961 Impala SS By David Walsh: Show & Go!

David Walsh is the proud owner of this practical 1961 Impala SS. As we were told, David wanted a show beauty, which shall rage down the streets. For these purposes, he hired Chuck Keene, owner of Georgia Hot Rods and as it turns out he handled most of the work for this car. This car has a supercharged LS6 engine, derived from an `04 Corvette Z06. It boosts 600 horses out of its all aluminum body. It has an intercooled system, screaming power all over the place.

An aluminum radiator cools the engine and a Tremec five-speed manual transmission with a Z06 clutch. When it comes to the interior, it`s another story. A story about comfort. The seats are 1961 Impala SS bucket ones, while the steering wheel is an original product. The seats and the panels are wrapped in grey leather and A/C system and vintage air head are also added. The insides are also accessorized with door and truck actuators, hurst shifter and power windows.

This powerful machine rides smoothly on its Bilet Specialties Nail wheels, size 20 x10 at the rear and 18 x 8 at the front. The tires are Toyo Proxes, 225/45 ZR 18 and 255/45ZR20 at the rear. The car has some pretty damn good Bar six-piston calipers which provide excellent stopping power. The chassis was fitted with a host of Global West suspension parts and adjustable coilovers were added on all four corners.

It looks like Dave got everything he wanted.
