4 Things About The Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 1

Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 was the first ever high volume production car that lapped the Nurburgring in under 8 minutes. All that thanks the famous 2.6 L RB26DETT engine and the all wheel drive system. In the first generation this engine had 276 hp, but for the next generations it went up to 320hp and even a 330hp. All that for a vehicle with 1,430 kg (3,146 lbs) of weight.

The formidable performance and unbelievable technology on the Nissan Skyline inspired the Australian automotive magazine “Wheels” to nickname this model Godzilla back in July 1989. The last Nissan Skyline R33 came out from the assembly line on 9 November 1998.
