On the most famous car tuning event “SEMA Show“, Rhys Millen Racing unveiled modified RM500 Genesis Coupe with the most powerful 5.0 Tau GDI V8 Hyundai Equus engine under the hood.
This is the fourth consecutive year of collaboration between Hyundai and Rhys Millen Racing (RMR). Like it was said by Rhys Millen, from the moment he saw the Tau V8 engine in the Hyundai Equus and Genesis R-Spec, he knew that it will be a perfect fit for the new Genesis Coupe. He said, with adding more performance and power to the sportiest Hyundai, it will become a street car that can be taken on any track or road course.
Mike O`Brien, Vice President of Product and Corporate Planning in HMA said that RM500 Genesis Coupe is a natural way to showcase the performances of the powerful 5.0 Tau V8 engine, integrated in 2012 Genesis sedan.
Monster Engine -- 5.0 Tau GDI V8 with 450hp!
In the Genesis Coupe, RMR integrated the impressive 5.0 Tau GDI V8 engine and spend some time to deliver extra performance of 450hp, with several modifications like: new racing pistons to boost the compression ratio, engine management system – “AEM” and 8 individual throttle bodies. Top speed of the car is increased until 182 mph.
Original custom titanium exhaust system together with the oil and differential coolers give an additional 20hp to this V8 monster engine.
The power of the engine is transferred to the asphalt trough 5-speed sequential transmission with KW coil over setup, 20″ alloy wheels and “Stop tech” brakes are added, as well as upgraded custom body kit, race seats from “Sparco” and carbon fiber interior parts.
