Throughout history we have seen some exclusive planes that have marked the aviation and left a legacy none could manage to overtake. The period between the two World Wars was a difficult one and all world leading powers tried to retain its power and produce some amazing machinery. Such aviation wonder is surely the Horten 229 V3. Despite having different names such as the H.IX and the Gotta Go 229, this plane has been recently called the Hitler`s Stealth Fighter. This plane was supposed to represent the latest stealth innovation and avoid the detection of radars to identify the plane.
The production of this absolute wonder began in 1943 and it was finished in March the following year. It represented the future and it was unlike any other plane we have seen during the WWII. Though one surviving example of this extra rare Horten 229 V3 was under the process of restoration, in this compilation of pictures we can clearly see how the plane looks. But at the time engineers did not know a lot about stealthy planes, hence they experimented a lot and designed various prototypes.
The Horten 229 V3 was way ahead of its time and many engineers worldwide tried to copy this German wonder. We see various pictures from how the restoration process looked like at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, which is actually a restoration center for old and vintage planes. The final product is something unbelievable and unlike any other plane you have seen. What do you think about it?
