It was in the early 60s when the general manager of Ford, Lee Iacocca, decided to create something that will shape the future of many young people. He envisioned a sports muscle car, a car that was supposed to be better than the rest. The Ford Mustang debuted at the World`s Fair in 1964, and over 100,000 cars were planned for the first year. However, this number suddenly grew because only on the first day, the Mustang sold in more than 20,000 units. Some short time after its debut, in 1965 Ford decided to do certain changes to the original model, and thus it became even more popular.

There were plenty of options you could choose from, such as the convertibles or notchback, and this 1965 model, including the 1964, was sold in more than 680,000 units. The original Ford Mustang featured a 170 cylinder V8 4.3 liter engine, and was able to produce whooping 271 hp, which was amazing for that time. It was not long until the millionth Mustang was manufactured, and it happened in 1966, less than two years after it made its debut. Year after year, the Mustang became better, more powerful, and more popular.

It was especially popular with young people, people who felt wild and free, and people who wanted to have a car that was powerful. The 1969 model became bigger and more powerful because it featured a whooping 290 hp. After this, Ford wanted to make the model more aggressive but sales began to slow down because of it. That is why, sometime in the 70s, Ford decided to bring back the original and neat look of the Mustang. The period of the 80s saw huge changes in the look of the Mustang. A huge deal of attention was introduced to the look, and this car became more aerodynamic.

Year after year, decade after decade, the Mustang had some ups and downs, and at the beginning of the 2000s, Ford decided to go back to its roots. This model had some of the original features, and it had a 4.9 liter V8 engine with 215 hp. The latest model, from 2015 until today, finally got an independent rear suspension and was fitted with a V6 and V8 engines, having 300 hp and 435 hp respectively. Without a doubt we can say that the Mustang is going to continue to evolve, and we are going to witness some amazing models!
