Cheap boost can be a very scary thing indeed. A 700$ small block turbo kit sounds like a very dangerous scam. Well, to be honest, in many cases that turns out to be true. However, not always. This amazon-bought small block turbo kit most definitely surprised us. This kit comes with everything you theoretically need. In the kit comes a stainless steel turbo manifold with a crossover on it because is a single turbo setup. One of the few things in the kit that does need to be welded. Something that wasn`t included in the kit is a GT 45 sized wheel China turbo.
The engine these guys are working on is an old 350 out of a truck. When they ordered the kit it came in a giant box with no instructions. It came only with a one piece of paper that they included in the kit and as you can see in the video it doesn`t give you a whole lot of insight on much at all. However, these guys doesn`t need any instructions because they are well educated gearheads. When they installed the small block turbo, they got a 546HP and 613 lb-ft. This video shows that you can do things on the cheap, but you have to be willing to work and have a few talents.
