The 1974 BMW 2002tii is one hell of a car! BMW made 38,703 of these babies between 1968 and 1974. A great feat when you take into consideration that BMW was a small manufacturer of large cars and motorcycles. Because they were in a newly affluent market, they focused on making the perfect car.

The 1974 BMW 2002tii was nimble, agile and light. A true alternative to the expensive Mercs. When it was introduced to the US market, the 2002tii was a real competition to Mustangs and other muscle cars. At that time, the 2002tii came with a 2L SOHC 4 cylinder engine! The 2002tii`s engine also came with a mechanical fuel injection system called Kugelfischer. The SOHC engine produced 130 HP! It managed to reach time on a 0-62 in just 8.2 seconds time! That is great even today for a family car with 2 doors! And that is why Mike Brewer is interested in this classic 1974 BMW 2002tii.

The owner of this 2002tii is a guy named Randy. His dad bought this car brand new in 1974 and drove it for about 15 years. Gave the car to his son when he graduated from college. Randy drove it every day till he got a kid. And this 2002tii hasn`t been driven since! It hasn`t been driven for 17 years! Mike Brewer then inspects the car for rust, but he finds nothing major. When he gets inside he notices the fine interior. It has a nice factory sunroof, and it still works fine after 40 years!

Up next Mike opens the hood. And no visible damage can be seen. A lot of people may suggest to put a battery pack on the engine and crank it up to see if it can be started. But, this car has not been driven for 17 years so a lot of damage to the car can be made that way. So what Mike does next is trying to hand crank the engine over. Just to make sure it spins freely. And it does! Another great find by Mike Brewer and Wheeler Dealers!
