US Marines UHAC Performs Well Deck Parking! Check Out This Incredible Amphibious Vehicle!

us marines UHAC 1 TN

The US marines have a lot of special high tech machines in store. And in this video we have something very special to show you all. They have turned a ship into a truck! The ultimate amphibious vehicle – the UHAC!

The UHAC was built in order to replace the marines` beach storming hovercrafts. And they started building it in 2012. The UHAC is very immense. And this is just a half scaled prototype. We can`t imagine how big they are planning the full scaled version to be. But we know that it would be able to transfer up to three M1A1 battle tanks with a high speed of 20 knots. It will have a range of 200 miles. And when it comes up shore, it would be able to overcome obstacles that are 10 feet tall. Also, it won`t have any difficulties going through swampy environments.

This half scale UHAC weighs 38 tons and is nearly 18 ft. tall. It consists two tracks that are made of dozens and dozens of air filled foam blocks. They give the vehicle the needed power for sea and land travel. These tracks work as paddles under water, but on land they resemble the tracks of a tank. It must be noted that the UHAC model barely leaves any impression on the ground for the enemy to see. The tracks flatten out when touching hard surfaces.

In this video we can see the UHAC in action parking in a well deck. This is also a very symbolic video for the UHAC. It is the first time we can see the UHAC entering a US Navy ship. You can be impressed at the half scaled version but we can`t wait to see the full scaled version. It will be the ultimate beach storming amphibious vehicle.
