This Is How The DUKE ENGINE Works! Is It Going To REPLACE The Standard Engine? What’s Your Opinion About This?

If you have never heard of the New Zealand company Duke Engines, you`ll find out in a bit. The company started in 1993 and has created many different engines as one was installed in a car in 1999. The Duke Engine runs a five cylinder, 3.0 L, 4 stroke combustion with an axial arrangement! The Duke engine has been tested at MAHLE in the UK as well as in the US! This article is about the Duke engine. Wanna learn more? Keep on reading!

In order to give you a better introduction about the DUKE engine, we have to briefly remind you of the standard internal combustion engine. The cylinders are multiplied in row in a V or inline arrangement in order to gain power. On the other hand, the engine arrangers the pistons as well as cylinders in completely opposite manner – in circle! The pistons are connected with star-shaped unit named the reciprocator which is responsible for the moving of the pistons in a wave-like manner.

Moreover, a 5-cylinder DUKE engine has the same amount of power strokes per revolution as a standard 6-cylinder engine and also is 30 per cent lighter! When this video was made, the DUKE prototype engine leveled with the standard production engines in terms of power! Additionally, there are several benefits of the DUKE engine compared with a 4-stroke motor. For instance, it is resistant to pre-ignition of fuel and air mix, uses a higher compression ratio (14:1 compression on 91 octane fuel). All this leads to greater efficiency and lower fuel consumption. In other words, the DUKE engine is “greener”.
