Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2013 Santa Fe Sport

The new generation of Santa Fe Sport models come in two models both suitable for families. One is five-person model and the other is a seven-person model. Both models share somewhat the same package including extreme low fuel consumption, high-tech gadgets, practicality and coziness. This new generation of Hyundai Santa Fe is known for its remarkable weight loss. The new five- person Hyundai Santa Fe has been available on the market since August, 2012, while the 7-person model has been in stores since January, 2013.

Powertrains with Proven Capacities!

Hyundai Santa Fe comes with an option of three engines. The first engine has already proven its capacities in Hyundai Sonata. It`s the GDI (gasoline direct injection 2.4 liter engine, able to develop 190 horsepower and torque of 181 lb-ft. Fuel consumption is 22 in city and 33 on highway.  The other, 2.0 liter GDI engine has also been part of Hyundai Sonata and develops horsepower of 264 and is is to be found in Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T. But, that`s not all! There is a third option. That`s the 3.3 liter GDI V6 engine found in Hyundai Azera and Hyundai LWB Santa Fe.

2.0-liter THETA II Turbocharged Engine!

Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is the first of Hyundai`s crossovers to use a compilation of GDI and turbocharger. Hyundai Santa Fe has a 2.0 liter turbocharged GDI engine with four cylinders, as the one used in Ford Edge with the only difference being the Santa Fe`s engine to have 24 more horsepower. Here are the other characteristics of Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T engine:

--          264 horsepower

--          269 lb-ft of torque

--          twin- scroll turbocharger

Twin-scroll turbocharger saves more energy from the exhaust due to its advanced cylinders that offers better pressure administration in the exhaust ports. This twin-scroll turbocharger puts the interference of gas pulses on minimal level and therefore is more efficient and has better performance than the single-scroll turbocharger.  Other twin-scroll turbocharger advantages over single-scroll turbocharger include: leaner air/fuel ration, lower cylinder temperature, low engine speed efficiency and lower fuel consumption. Furthermore, two crucial twin-scroll characteristics in Hyundai are: the use of motor driven electrical controller and the one piece of equipment that includes both twin –scroll turbine housing and stainless steel exhaust manifold. This kind of construction continues the life of the turbine and better turbo efficiency. The compression ratio in the direct injection engine is 9.5 with 132 horsepower.

6-speed Automatic Transmission!

6-speed automatic transmission and Active ECO System are included in all Hyundai models. The transmission has Shiftronic manual control. This type of speed transmission equipment offers minimum temperature of the transmission oil, gentle speed transmission and is economic when it comes to fuel consumption.

Extremely Comfortable and Enjoyable Drive!

Hyundai has done its best to offer car users an extremely comfortable and enjoyable drive. Hyundai has installed the DSSM mode that helps the car to adjust to the road and makes driving easier for car users. This system has three modes: sport, comfort and normal. Here you have the facts and figures for all the modes.

  • Normal mode is the best option when it comes to different road circumstances.
  • Comfort is characterized by steering effort which is about 10% lower than the one of the normal mode and is most suitable for drive in the city
  • Sport mode has a steering effort about 10% higher than the normal`s one – it`s the best option when driving fast on highways

When it comes to Santa Fe, it offers smooth and nice ride. Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T has 19ich wheels, while Hyundai Santa Fe comes with 17 inch wheels. It also has a fully in-wheel multi-link rear suspension and front suspension. As far as maneuver is in question, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has a remarkable touring circle of 35.76ft, while the one of LWB Santa Fe is 36.68 ft.

Well Calculated Vehicle`s Mass!

First, one must know that weight loss in a car means that you get a car with way better speeding process and astonishingly low fuel consumption. When we compare Hyundai car with other automobile manufacturers we understand how seriously Hyundai takes this issue of weight. For example, let`s make a comparison between the 2.4l FWD Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and top cars like 2012 Audi Q5 2.0 TFSI Quattro. We will conclude that Audi`s car is 384 pounds heavier than Hyundai`s 2.0l FWD. Furthermore, the new 5 person 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4l FWD is 266 pounds lighter than the earlier 2012 Santa Fe with 4 cylinders. And last, but not the least, 2012 Santa Fe V6 FWD is 333 pounds heavier than the new Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T.

All Santa Fe models encompass 7 airbags, such as side curtain airbag with rollover sensors and driver`s knee airbags. This equipment prevents passengers from suffering serious injuries in case of a car accident. In terms of safety, Santa Fe models include braking systems at the most advanced level. These systems include ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with maximum braking force, then EBD (Electric Brake-force Distribution) and 12.6 inch front and 11.9 inch rear disk brakes.  Furthermore, FWD models include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSH) and MDPS (Motor-driven electric power steering). These systems function in very specific ways and are responsible for urgent safety reaction and have several important functions. Hyundai Santa Fe models also include passive safety system encompassing three- point seatbelts and LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children). Having in mind that Hyundai always does its best to improve the performance of all parts of the vehicle, engine are not excluded in this process. Consequently the Theta II GDI 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine with Gasoline Direct Injection system is an engine that has low fuel consumption and low CO2 EMISSIONS AS MAIN CHARACTERISTICS. It can work under pressure up to 2 175 psi. If we compare this to other engines we will see that it is first in its class when horsepower, torque and power-to-weight ratio are in question. The 6 valve engine also includes VIS (Variable Induction System) and DCVVT (Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing). The GDI system applies compression ratio of 11.3.

Have you Heard about ACC AWD?

Well now you have. The whole name of this abbreviation is Active Cornering Control All-Wheel Drive or ACC AWD and yes, it is part of Hyundai Santa Fe. But why?- Because it provides additional stability. Hyundai Santa Fe incorporates a high tech system responsible for data monitoring available to the car user. This intelligent high tech “gadget” is very beneficial particularly when talking about low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. There are other benefits too, such as: greater thermal capacity, better lateral stability and the fact that unintentional under steer and over steer will be removed. Downhill brake control (DBC) and Hill start Assist Control (HAC) are systems that are fully incorporated in 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe models. These systems provide: acceleration sensor, steering angle sensor and other signals important of the driver to keep control over the vehicle.

High Quality Steel and other Materials!
