Hyundai Delivers Vehicles for 2013 World Summer Universiade in Russia!

Hyundai Motor through its subsidiary Hyundai Motor CIS provided more than 1,000 cars for use during the 2015 World Summer Universiade games in Kazan, Russia. This is one of the most important sporting events in this country.

The Universiade games will be opened from 6th to 17th of July. This will be the biggest sporting event in the modern Russian history, with more than 14,000 athletes coming from 160 countries. The next games of XXVIII World Summer Universiade will be held in Gwangju, Korea. At the vehicle handover ceremony took place the General Director of Hyundai Motor CIS, Koo Young-Key; General Director of the Executive Department of the 2013 Universiade Vladimir Leonov as well as Deputy General Director of the Executive Department of the 2013 Universiade, Igor Sivov.



Hyundai Motor CIS provides exactly 1,048 vehicles that will be used by athletes and the officials during the 2013 Universiade. The fleet includes 5 different models: 109 units of i40, 821 units of Solaris, 5 units of Sonata, 112 units of Hyundai H-1 and 1 luxury Equus.

Hyundai will try to maximize the marketing effect through activities for the Universiade as the special fan zone with latest models displayed as well as the participation in the final stages of the Universiade Torch Relay in 30 cities in Russia and displayed cars and banners at the Kazan airport and all the main stadiums.
Hyundai is also sponsoring promotional events on social media web sites: Facebook and V Kontakte (vk.com).

Hyundai`s partnership with the Universiade games will increase its brand power and awareness in the growing Russian market. Hyundai Solaris (Accent) (2012 Russian Car of the Year) is produced in the St. Petersburg manufacturing facility and is one of the most popular cars in Russia. Hyundai i40 won Russian Car of the Year competition in 2013.
