Ferrari F50 Clutch Replacement – Definitely Not An Easy Task!

Why is a Ferrari clutch replacement especially on an F50 so difficult? Well, clutch replacement is always hard to do to mid-engine supercars. Just imagine what you need to go through in order to perform something like this. Usually, the car shop has to remove the engine from its engine bay in order to do this tricky task. However, performing it on an F50 is even more difficult than your average mid-engine supercar. To attest to this, Joe Macari Servicing uploaded this timelapse video on their Instagram page that demonstrates how they handle clutch changing on an F50.

To do this on an F50 they need to hell and back in order to successfully achieve it. However, it might be a bit easier for Joe Macari Servicing because they possess some pretty neat tricks. As you are about to see in the timelapse video below, the Ferrari clutch replacement performed on this F50 is done by splitting the car into two parts in order to do the meticulous task. Some of you Ferrari fans might get a bit nervous watching this timelapse video because you don`t see every day a Ferrari F50 being cut in half.

The F50 is a great Ferrari classic which was introduced back in `95 as the successor to the legendary F40. The production run of the F50 lasted for two long years but only 349 examples were manufactured during that time. However, the F50 is also considered to be the most underrated Ferrari ever built. Unfortunately, it never received the praise that many believe it deserved. Then again, it had huge shoes to fill being the successor of the F40.
