On this day, 1985, the cult movie “Back to the Future” in which DeLorean`s iconic car was converted into a time machine hit the cinemas across the U.S! In the movie, designed by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown, the 1981 DMC 12 DeLorean was fitted with a nuclear reactor! John DeLorean was a veteran of General Motors and Packard Motor Company! However, in 1975, he founded his own company in Detroit – the DeLorean Motor Company! He did all of this so he can follow his vision of building a futuristic sports car! John DeLorean manufactured 9.000 of these cars. However, because of financial problems they stopped production in 1982. But largely due to the success of the “Back to the Future” franchise, the DeLorean continues to be of great interest to enthusiasts and collectors!
